The Gulmoiire Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ("The Gulmoiire", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use The Gulmoiire mobile app (the "App") and our website, thegulmoiire.com (the "Website"). It applies to both. We collect only what we need to run them and serve you.
1. Information we collect
Through the App. The App does not require you to create an account. It does not ask for your name, email address or phone number. The App connects to your The Gulmoiire diffuser using Bluetooth. To do this, it handles:
- Device information: the name, model, firmware version and settings of your diffuser.
- Your settings: schedules, scent intensity, device names, notes and the device password you set.
This information is stored on your phone and on the diffuser itself. It is not sent to our servers.
When you contact us. If you email or call us for support, we receive your name, contact details and anything you choose to tell us, such as your order details or a description of a problem.
Through the Website. When you visit or use thegulmoiire.com, we may collect:
- Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, address and message when you fill in an enquiry or contact form, sign up for updates, or [place an order].
- Order and payment details: [items bought, billing and delivery address. Card or UPI payments are handled by our payment provider, [name]; we do not see or store your full card details.] (Remove if the Website does not sell online.)
- Information collected automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how long you stay, collected through cookies and similar tools.
2. App permissions and Website cookies
- Bluetooth: to find and control your diffuser.
- Location (Android only): older versions of Android require location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices. The App does not collect, store or share your location.
You can turn these permissions off at any time in your phone's settings. Without Bluetooth access, the App cannot control your diffuser.
Cookies on the Website. Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies that make the Website work, such as [keeping items in your cart];
- Analytics cookies from [Google Analytics] that show us how visitors use the Website, so we can improve it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential parts of the Website may not work without them.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- operate the App and connect it to your diffuser;
- respond to enquiries and support requests[, and process and deliver orders];
- send you product news and offers, only if you have agreed to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- understand how the Website is used and improve the App, Website and products;
- keep the App, Website and products working safely.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising. The App contains no ads or third-party tracking.
4. Sharing
We share information only when needed:
- with service providers who help us run the App and Website, such as our app development partner, website host, analytics provider[, payment provider and delivery partners], under confidentiality obligations;
- when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
5. How long we keep information
App data stays on your phone until you delete it or uninstall the App. Information from the Website and from support requests is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements[, such as keeping order records]. Analytics data is kept for [14 months].
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to access, correct or erase personal information we hold about you, or withdraw any consent you have given. You may also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf. To make a request, email kanika@thegulmoiire.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections on the Website. You can add a password to your diffuser in the App to stop others nearby from controlling it.
8. Children
The App and Website are not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
